Emergency Room


Cherry County Hospital's (CCH) Emergency Room (ER) is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a Basic Level IV Trauma Center rated by the Nebraska Statewide Trauma System (Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services).

The main ER entrance is located on the east side of the hospital which can be accessed from Highway 12 on the south side of the hospital. Emergency Room signage will confirm you are headed in the right direction and ER parking is available.

When you arrive at the ER and request examination or treatment, you will be provided with an appropriate medical screening examination by a qualified medical person. Nursing staff are always available at CCH and a medical staff member is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) is the law governing Emergency Room protocol. EMTALA is followed at CCH.

Q: Will I be able to be seen by my own provider when I visit the ER?

A: If your medical screening necessitates that you see a provider, you will be seen by the on call provider.
