MRI Technologist - Radiology

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following –

1. To produce MRI’s, CT scans and diagnostic radiographic images in an acceptable and high-quality manner to be interpreted by the radiologist.
2. Perform and maintain all QA testing required on MRI equipment.
3. To assist providers as required in the performance of fluoroscopic examinations.
4. Consult with providers and radiologists.
5. Adhere to the ALARA principles.
6. Maintain a high working knowledge of safety procedures relative to the MRI environment and understand appropriate screening procedures for all entering the MRI zones. This includes the ability to educate all team members and applicable personnel on safety procedures in the MRI environment.
7. Follow all safety requirements and regulations that pertain to service performed by the department.
8. Training of other team members to perform MRI’s, meeting quality and safety standards
9. Responsible for the procurement, storage, and utilization of modality and departmental supplies
10. Keeps up to date of new procedures, equipment, and methods.
11. Must be knowledgeable of state and federal confidentiality laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, and be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and instructions regarding the privacy and security of protected health information applicable to the position.
12. Must be able to meet physical demands and working conditions, outlined below.
13. Regular and reliable attendance
14. Must be able to work occasional on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.
15. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have graduated from an accredited radiology program. Current registry in good standing with ARRT. BLS certification required. Must be licensed in the state of Nebraska.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Skills: Knowledgeable of functions of MRI and radiology. Ability to set up and operate equipment safely and properly. Must have good communication skills with the general public, hospital staff, and patients.
