Clinical Director of Nursing
Job Title: Clinical Director of Nursing
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Position Summary: The Clinical Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the clinical practice of nursing in accordance with accepted standards. This role involves day-to-day management of the nursing unit, including planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling nursing services. Additionally, the Clinical Director provides clinical education and support to the nursing team.

Essential Job Duties:
•Develop and implement nursing care plans, incorporating input from all disciplines involved in patient care.
•Coordinate staffing to optimize staff time and duties.
•Formulate departmental procedures and contribute to policy development.
•Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
•Conduct annual inventory for Nursing Service.
•Analyze Nursing Services to improve quality of care.
•Provide direct nursing care, ensuring patient safety and acting as an advocate.
•Continuously assess patient status and needs.
•Collaborate efficiently with physicians in patient care.
•Document patients' condition orally and in writing.
•Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other departments.
•Make administrative decisions in the absence of the CNO.
Other Job Duties:
•Assist in patient teaching, discharge planning, and education of nursing team members.
•Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating nursing unit team members.
•Provide feedback, coaching, and discipline of team members as needed.
•Assist in adoption and evaluation of new initiatives and practices.
•Instruct team members through conferences and example.
•Participate in continuing education programs.
Qualifications:
•Full-time, direct employment as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska.
•Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's preferred.
•Current Nebraska RN license.
•Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience, including medical-surgical, emergency, and obstetrical nursing.
•Minimum six months of nursing leadership experience.
•Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, TNCC, and PALS certifications.
•NRP certification within six months of hire.
•Leadership ability and commitment to professional development.
•Willingness to obtain certification in a nursing area within 12 months.
•Preferred: Master's degree in nursing or related field within two years.

•Dexterity required for equipment operation and patient care tasks.

Equipment and Work Aids: Computer, resuscitation equipment, blood pressure equipment, pulse oximeters, cardiac monitoring equipment, medical monitoring equipment, thermometers, etc.
